Very large spring tides this week - coupled with high barometric pressure giving very large low waters - down to LAT (Lowest Astronomical Tide) levels.

I have been looking at the very low tides you have had over the last few days and wonder how on earth can you launch in such low water.
Lifeboat would have been able to launch even at yesterday`s (18th) exceptionally low water.
The low water launching channel was excavated some years ago - it is just wide enough to accommodate the lifeboat !
An absolute minimum depth of 6ft in the channel giving the boat 18" clearance.
