A joint exercise was held by the lifeboat crew and the jack-up crew to practice techniques for evacuating persons from the platform in the event of an accident.
The scenario was that an explosion had occured, blowing one worker off the platform and into the sea - he was suspected of having neck and spinal injuries and was treated accordingly by the ILB crew and recovered from the water by the ALB.
A second casualty on the platform had suffered burns and a broken leg - he was treated on the platform and evacuated by crane cage into the ILB.
Dr Adam Ellery supervised the event, and can be seen being craned off the platform in the lower right image !
