Week Commencing 9th March
Plans for this week include continuing preparation of the granite plinths to take the new pre-cast concrete piers which will hold the new launch slipway. Works will continue in the boathouse to excavate an area of the boathouse floor and preparation of the lowered floor level.
Works are planned to take advantage of the low spring tides this week on the end of the launch slipway, with some underwater work also planned.
Work on the temporary access slipway into the boathouse from the old slipway to the west of the short slipway continues this week.
Work will continue daily to attempt to remove as much spoil as possible from the works area and harbour beach.
Again during this week it is anticipated that only small amounts of spoil will be pulled over Cove Hill using a small dumper.
There are no plans to bring in any concrete this week, but a delivery of steel is expected on Tuesday.
